Operational Intelligence

Your Data. Our Expertise. Better Decisions.

Not every business needs a consultant. Every business deserves to know when it might.

The service

Operational Intelligence provides recurring performance monitoring and quarterly expert analysis for businesses that lack dedicated analytical resources or executive operating support.

Instead of buying another dashboard or hiring an analyst, you get a structured review of your own operational information, the significant trends identified, and practical guidance on what those changes mean. It is built to help owners and managers recognize developing problems, understand performance trends and make better-informed decisions.

Manufacturers

Plants that already record output and labor hours and want an experienced operator reading the trend every month.

Other operating businesses

Service, distribution and other operations, with all five data streams configured around how you work.

A service, not software

Expert-led analysis of the information you submit. No dashboard to learn and no integration project.

Month to month

After the initial activation, the subscription runs month to month with 30 days’ notice to cancel.

AI is the tool. Experience is the intelligence.

Technology helps process the data and surface patterns. The judgment comes from professional operating experience: whether a change matters, what is likely behind it, and what to do about it.

How it works

Four steps to a quarterly view

Set up once, monitored every month, analyzed every quarter.

  1. Step 01

    Select your metrics

    Establish five operational data streams.

    • Manufacturers: two are set. Production output, and direct labor hours with average labor cost captured for analysis. You choose the other three.
    • Other businesses: all five are configured around your processes and the information you have.
    • Metrics can be changed quarterly.

Common choices include on-time delivery, order backlog, downtime and overtime.

  2. Step 02

    Establish the baseline

IOG sets up the reporting structure and works with you on data definitions, how the data is submitted, and the starting performance baseline.

Manual submission works from day one. Automated data integration is not part of the service today and may be offered later as capabilities develop.

  3. Step 03

    Monitor performance

Every month, IOG reviews the operational information you submit.

Material changes, developing concerns and positive trends are identified and evaluated in the context of what was happening in the business.

  4. Step 04

    Receive quarterly analysis

A concise three-page Operational Intelligence Report each quarter:

    1. Performance trends and key observations.
    2. Significant deviations, developing risks and positive results.
    3. Interpretation, recommended actions and areas worth a closer look.

A 15-minute discussion is included when an anomaly warrants one.

Each report is written to be useful on its own. When something warrants a closer look, the recommended next step is often work your own team can do. Further help from IOG is available, never assumed.

Scope and expectations

What the service is, and is not

Analysis of your data
On an agreed cycle

  • Your information. The service works from the data you supply. Consistent, accurate submissions make for sharper analysis.
  • Agreed cycles, not surveillance. Monitoring follows the agreed submission and monthly review cycle. It is not continuous, real-time monitoring, and it does not include live dashboards, automated alerts or system integrations.
  • Context first. Findings are interpreted against the operating conditions behind them, not read off a chart in isolation.
  • Analysis, not audit. The quarterly report is analytical. It is not an audit or a certification.
  • Room to grow. Safety and quality may become additional data streams or service extensions as the offering develops.
  • Confidential. Client data remains confidential and is used only for the agreed service.
