Upstate manufacturers rarely struggle for lack of good people. They struggle for lack of operations leadership they cannot afford to hire full time. Interstitial Operations Group exists to close that gap, plant by plant, so the region’s industrial base keeps its footing.

Todd Kayhart founded Interstitial Operations Group after more than two decades running manufacturing operations at the plant and executive level. He works directly with ownership and leadership teams to close the gap between strategic intent and what actually happens on the floor. That gap is the interstitial space between the plan and the execution.

His approach is built on structured, repeatable problem-solving rather than generic best practices: root-cause diagnostics, daily operating disciplines, and the judgment that comes from having run the floor himself, not just advised from the outside.
